NYSACAC Understanding Opportunity Programs Virtual Program

The New York State Association for College Admissions Counseling (NYSACAC) CBO and Opportunity Programs Committee invites students, families, and all interested parties to join us on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. for our virtual program Understanding Opportunity Programs: A panel discussion about opportunity programs, including HEOP, EOP, SEEK, College Discovery and more!

This program will provide an overview of opportunity programs for students and families. Our panelists will discuss the purpose of opportunity programs, general eligibility, admission processes, interviews, summer programs, and more. This will be an interactive panel.

Panelists will include:

Paul Dorestant, Director, Percy Ellis Sutton SEEK Program, CUNY New York City College of Technology

Cindy Suarez-Espinal, Director, College Discovery Program, CUNY Bronx Community College

William (Bill) J. Short, Director, Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program, St. Lawrence University

Julio A. Torres Jr., Admissions Representative, Western Connecticut State University

This program is open to all high school grades. Content, however, will be geared towards sophomores, juniors, and seniors. We would love to see any student who may benefit from this opportunity.
