Current Job: High School Guidance Counselor at Lynbrook High School

Educational History:

I am a high school guidance counselor at Lynbrook High School.  This is my 16th year as a school counselor.  Previous schools I worked in were at Locust Valley High School, and Long Island City High School, in Queens.  I earned my BA from Stony Brook University, my MS from LIU-Post and my Post-Masters in School Administration from Stony Brook University.  I hold my School Counseling Certification, as well as my School Building Leader and School District Leader Certifications.

Your current role at NCA:

This is my 15th year on the NCA Executive Board.  I am the Current President.  I have also been the Secretary, Program Chair, Membership Chair, NewsCAster Editor, Webmaster, Career Day Co-Chair and have been on numerous committees over the years.

Your favorite thing about NCA:

I love how NCA is a family.  I love the network of other fabulous professionals you meet when you are involved in NCA.  You always know someone to turn to for help when working with the students and families and I am constantly gaining knowledge from other members.  Being involved in NCA is an amazing resource to our profession.

Random Fun Facts:

  • I was a contestant on the Price is Right in 2011 and won a car!
  • I used to be an extra in TV shows and Movies
  • I am running for office in the Town of Hempstead’s 6th District, for Town Council
  • The last book I read was “Creepy Pair of Underwear” (with my 5 year old)
